Behavioral Interviewing

Half-Day: Hiring the right people for your team is vital to your organization's success. Interviewing is still the primary method for assessing a candidates fit for your organization - a skill that every manager should master. Successful hiring doesn't happen based on a hunch but is an outcome of a skillful assessment process - a process that is built on the assumption that past behaviors are a good indicator of future behavior. Following this course, managers will have a the right mindset, the right process and tools, and the confidence to select the best candidates to join your team.

Planning & Prioritizing Work

Half-Day: Participants learn the importance of planning and prioritizing work and the benefits of developing and following a prioritized work plan. Participants also will relate real life planning experiences to planning work in a business environment. Participants learn to envision the outcome/deliverables of a project or initiative by using the concept of first creation. Participants also learn how to use organizational inputs that may provide insights or a basis for defining the outcome. Based on defining the outcomes or deliverables, participants learn to define the specific, verb-driven actions needed to achieve the outcome or produce the deliverable(s). Participants learn how to consolidate actions steps by combining related or like items or eliminating duplication.

Delegating

Half-Day: The Delegating workshop helps participants explore the individual and organizational barriers to effective delegation, helps them identify opportunities to delegate more and/or more effectively, and provides a four-step process for effective delegation. Participants will be able to: Describe the importance of delegating for enhanced performance, time management, and motivating and developing others, identify and strategize to overcome your own barriers to effective delegation, apply four action steps for delegating assignments, and to develop strategies and apply techniques for effective delegation.

Performance Coaching

Half-day: Performance Coaching is an effective method for managers who want to provide direct reports with direction, support, and guidance toward achieving performance objectives that will positively impact business results. The program helps managers incorporate useful coaching skills into their existing development activities to enhance the development process. The purpose of this module is to help participants: Understand the importance of coaching for achieving performance results and for developing people, apply five critical coaching skills, apply techniques and five action steps for on-the-spot coaching, and apply techniques and five action steps for coaching to monitor progress.

Performance Management

One day: The Performance Management Program is focused on teaching supervisors and managers how to successfully navigate the performance management process. Modules include Goal Setting, Development Planning, and conducting Performance Reviews.

Building Effective Teams

Half-Day: Canadian Rockies survival simulation that permits participants to work both individually and as a team to determine the best course of action in an emergency situation. First they are required to make a crucial strategy decision from a range of seemingly viable options. Then they rank the value of the few survival items available to them in terms of their usefulness to the group as it carries out its chosen strategy. This format is designed to stimulate typical organization behavior - make a strategic decision, then execute it with the resources available.
New Leader Skills Transfer
How do you ensure learning beyond the classroom?
The New Leader Skills Transfer process is a strategic enabler designed to assure an accelerated transfer of knowledge, skills, and mindset through the help of more seasoned leaders, supervisors, and real world application. Out of the process emerges a new leader who has demonstrated a transition from producer to someone who can get things done through others. This rapid transition is achieved through three developmental elements: Accelerated Management Program, Mentoring, and Developmental Assignments.

Mentorship Program
